days left to go...

Yes, I am still alive. I must say I was genuinely touched by some readers concern with my personal safety.

Frankly, I just didn't know what to post. Things have just gotten really, really dry while we all just sit around waiting for the countdown to reach zero.

So here is what I was thinking, why I don't ask you guys what we can do to pass the time. If you have any ideas at all, then please just post in the comments below and I promise I will look at them. Help me keep this thing fresh!

Also, if you are feeling inclined, I made a widget for this blog HERE. Post it all over the internet!

Plausible Earnings

My site has really risen up the google ranks recently. I am actually ranked 4th if you search for Bux.to which makes me think that the Bux.to people MUST read this.

*Ahem*

Dear Bux.to,

It is in your best interest to pay me on time.

Your truly,

Max.

Problems With Bux.to

Straight up: I don't think I am ever going to be paid. This whole thing with Paypal has left a real sour taste in my mouth and let me tell you something, I have already made up the big red splashy graphic that says "YES BUX.TO IS A SCAM" I am just waiting for that count down you see on the sidebar to hit zero before it goes up.

Ref Activity

Well I left the world of Bux.to for 6 day and since it's been so long I thought that I would do the math for everyone so that you can all see what kind of clicks you can expect out of you refs right now during this "dark" age.

Also, Bux.to has clarified the Paypal situation: Act like PayPal doesn't exist. That it never existed. I had to sign up for an AlertPay account which was a huge pain in the ass. Here's hoping Bux.to doesn't fuck that company over too!

Plausible Earnings

As I mentioned earlier, Bux.to recently announced that they won't be using PayPal any more, which is unfortunate because that means the Bux.to scale is tipping even further towards SCAM.

Honestly, I wish I could be in on the decision making over at Bux.to just to see why they are making these boneheaded moves.

Ref Activity

Annnnnnd-- We're back! Sorry for the long hiatus, but I was moving and I just got my internet up an running again. Well, things are on the down turn for my refs. Even my most devoted refs seem to be barely clicking anymore :(

I don't really blame them though cause Bux.to recently made another bullshit announcement saying that starting in Feb they won't be sending payments through paypal and that anyone who wants their cash will have to sign up for ALERTPAY. gawwd.

Day 30: Possible Earnings

Don't really now what to say that I haven't already said today. Q and A has drained me...haha

Day 30: Ref Activity

That's right, we gained a new ref today!

Let me take this moment to send a big thank you for signing up and I hope you are reading this and understand the joy it brings me when I log into Bux.to and see that ref number jump. Big thanks goes out to all my other refs for clicking as well!

Day 30: Q and A Day Begins! Pt 2

martin asks: When you finally get paid, will you be paid the 11.49 you requested or will you be paid the full amount of your Bux.to account?

A: Unfortunately, I will only receive the 11.49 I requested. And since I have to wait until the payment is sent before making another request I'll have to wait another 60 business days before being paid whatever has my account has gained while I've been waiting for the 11.49, which sucks.

anonymous asks: Do your purchased referrals appear on your referral list or do they remain hidden?

A: They will appear on your referral list, but only after the payment has been processed by Bux.to. If it seems like a long time has passed and you still don't see your refs appearing on your list you'd better contact Bux.to support. For all my bitching and whining, they have been very good to me.

That's it for Q & A this week, catch you next Thursday!

Day 30: Q and A Day Begins!

I think that from now on we'll call Thursday "Q and A Day." I have been getting a lot of questions regarding Bux.to and I will do my very best to answer them right now! PS I may have edited some of your question for clarity...hope that is cool with everyone :)

ujjwal asks: What is the deal with http://bux3.com?

and with a similar question

bill roman
asks: Take a look at linksbux.com. The site looks exactly like bux.to except the site looks dead and relatively inactive. If you look at their TOS, in the first line of #1 you see the word "Bux.to" in the TOS. Why would linksbux.com have Bux.to in the Tos? Are these sites related?

A: Hmmm... well they both certainly look like a Bux.to affiliated sites, and Bux3 even uses the exact same descriptions and examples... BUT Bux.to has recently released a list of affiliated websites and neither Bux3 or Linksbux.com were not on it.

My current suggestion is to avoid until further information is released, this could just be a scam, trying to capitalize on simply looking and sounding like Bux.to.

bill roman asks another: When paying by paypal it shows that you are making payment to "freelancermarketing.com". What exactly is this site?

A (from the forums): It is official name for the bux paypal system. probably a started business with a paypal business account which has been kept over time. Bux.to has a lot of weird little things like this going for it, but I don't think that this particular one points to anything truly suspect.

bill roman with the hatrick!: Where are these advertisers exactly coming from?

A: Beats me dude. But I have to admit that I have given consideration myself to using some of the click money I've earned to use towards putting up ads. As for how Bux.to can make any real money from it's system is a question for the ages. But I think alot of it has to do with selling ref packs as well as signing up premium memberships.

tom asks: If Bux.to vanished, I wonder what would happen if you filed a dispute with Paypal for not having received the goods. Would you be able to get your 16dollars back for buying the referrals?

A: I doubt it Tom. Thing is I paid for 15 referrals and that is what I got. What I didn't pay for was any sort of earnings guarantee. I've been very lucky and Bux.to has been very kind to me and has replaced my inactive ref without question (something that I should mention more often) and I think their goodwill combined with the lack of any guarantee puts the kibosh on any dispute.

Whew! Answering question is hard work! Stay tuned for Pt.2 of Q and A Day!

Day 29: Possible Earnings

The beat goes on. I just hope the song isn't in my imagination.

You may have noticed but I've added a new widget to the side bar that is counting down to the last day Bux.to has to fulfill my payment request. March 21st 2008. Exactly 60 business days from when I requested my money. I may have to adjust the widget incase of a holiday that I missed but for now, I think it's pretty accurate. Don't hesitate to tell me if I am wrong.

PS, leave a comment if your browser goes haywire when you try to view this site, I think the widget is messing with Firefox...

Day 29: Ref Activity

Everything seems to be progressing nicely here. My two latest refs are putting my purchased refs to shame as always (thank you, guys). There seems to be a bit of slow down happening with the 7th ref from the bottom, but hopefully they have just been away from a cpu and haven't had a complete change of heart.

Day 29: Poll Results

Well my very first poll has come to a close and the results are somewhat surprising. Out of the 86 people who voted over 53% of you said to wait until I got paid before buying more referrals. 37% said to buy immediately, and 8% did their best to convince me to not buy any referrals at all (and one person was all like, "Meh. Whatever").

Well these poll results combined with the new and very sketchy 60 day TOS amendment has led to my decision to NOT purchase anymore refs until I see that 11.49 I requested.

Thanks for your help!

Day 29: Comments for everyone!

Good evening all of you beautiful people! I finally took the time to play with my blogger settings and now anyone can comment on posts. I am sincerely sorry I did not do this earlier, it's just that it never really occurred to me that anyone would actually be interested in my little project.

Turns out I was wrong. WAAAAAAAAY wrong. This site is actually my most popular blog and I am so happy that so many people are not only getting answers to Bux.to questions but also that you guys are helping me out, and advising me through your post comments as well as voting on the polls.

We are all in this together!

So if you weren't able to post comments before, now is your chance. Tell me you love Bux.to, tell me you hate Bux.to-- it's all good.

Help me abolish my student loan-- sign up as my ref!

Day 28: Possible Earnings

Yep, I am retitling these posts as "possible" earnings because we don't really know if they will pay or not. If one day, 60 business days from now, I open up my Bux.to account and find that I have actually been sent the 11.49 I requested, then I will change the title back to "Earnings"

Day 28: Referal Actiivity

I'm back! It looks like after all of the doomsday prophecy died down, everyone seemed to keep on clicking. Except for one guy. I definitely lost one ref to this 60 fiasco, as he has only click once in the past 4 days.

So long, old friend, I appreciate your help.

EDIT: Woops! cancel that! I double checked the numbers and I don't know what I saw before but I made a mistake. Looks like everyone is still relatively active.

Sorry for the hiatus.

Hey everyone. Sorry for the hiatus. Basically I did a little soul searching. I needed to decide if it was worth my time to continue using Bux.to and therefore blogging about using Bux.to.

After a thinking about it I decided that I WILL continue, and that I was wrong to be so harsh on the new TOS.

This blog is really meant to be an objective document and I promise that I will do my best to keep that in perspective in the future.

Everything will be back on track, starting tomorrow.

Max.

Day 24: 24 hours and 1 cent earned.

Please reference yesterday's earnings post and compare it to today's earnings. Thank you 60 day TOS. Today we made 1 fucking cent! wooooooooooooooo hoooooooooooooooooooo!

Bux.to is dead.

Day 23: Earnings

Yes, I am still clicking my links. Yes, it makes me sick, but I can't forget that I am someone's ref, and I don't want to let them down!

Day 23: Ref Activity

Well it sure has been a day of highs and lows. On a high note I have another referral, bring our grand total to 18. Which is totally awesome. And normally I would have punctuated those sentences with exclamation marks, but I am still pissed (re: two previous posts).

Unsurprisingly, our ref activity overall has taken dip. It's been reported all over the forum as well, that since the 60 day announcement, referral activity as a whole is down. hooray.

Don't give up on me and I won't give up on you!

Day 23: I Raged on the Bux.to Forums

This may have been a huge mistake. I got angry on the Bux.to forums today. Sheesh. Looking over what I wrote...man, I mean I believe in everything I said but Bux.to seems like the type of organization that will simply not pay me because I complained. Oh well hahaha. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Here are some of my highlights (click for a larger version):

LOL. Fuck man. How screwed am I?

Oh well, I could have gone completely nuts like these guys (you must click to read!):
